Elocon Information

Elocon is a glucocorticoid-steroid drug. It is an anti-inflammatory agent and is used topically in the form of a cream, a lotion or an ointment. It is used for the relief and treatment of pruritic as well as inflammatory manifestations of dermatoses, which are corticosteroid-responsive. The drug crosses the cell membranes and binds to specific cytoplasmic-receptors. The generic drug also minimizes the leukocytic acid-hydrolases release, thus decreasing the inflammation. The drug reduces the inflammation by preventing the accumulation of macrophages at the inflamed site and interferes with the adhesion of leukocyte to the capillary walls.
