Exforge Information
Exforge is a combination of amlodipine and valsartan. This drug is used for treating high blood pressure or hypertension, thereby preventing strokes, kidney problems and heart attacks. While amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker, valsartan is a known angiotensin receptor blocker. Though these two work differently, they help in relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily through the body. This combination drug is used when a single drug is not able to control your blood pressure.
Exforge Side Effects and Precautions
When your body is adjusting to this drug, you may experience dizziness, runny nose and flushing. If these side effects persist, contact your doctor immediately. Some of the other serious side effects of this generic medication that requires immediate medical attention are swelling of hands, ankles and feet, weakness in muscles, fainting and irregular heartbeats.
