Hepsera Information

Hepsera is an antiviral drug that belongs to a group of medication called nucleotide analogs. It is used to treat patients with long term hepatitis -B (viral infection of liver) who have symptoms of the disease. It works by blocking an enzyme called reverse transcriptase, which is important in the reproduction of hepatitis B virus in the body, thus preventing liver damage. The brand and generic drug are also used for treatment of herpes simplex infection. Cheap Hepsera is now easily available in many outlets.

Hepsera Side effects and Precautions

Adefovir dipivoxil may cause some side effects like headache, indigestion, diarrhea, running nose sore throat, cough etc. Inform your doctor immediately if you find rash or any other unusual symptoms on taking the Adefovir. If you experience any symptoms like decreased urination, or swelling of the hands/feet, yellowness of skin or eyes, confusion, unusual bleeding/bruising, dark-colored urine or difficult breathing, immediately inform your doctor.

Symptoms may include loss of appetite for a few days, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, unusual muscle pain, dizziness/lightheadedness, fast or irregular heartbeat; or extreme weakness or tiredness. Dosage Information For Hepsera

Hepsera is taken in strengths of 10 mg in chronic hepatitis B patients 12 years and above with no kidney problems. It is taken orally once daily, with or without food. It is not used in children below 12 years. In patients with kidney disease the dosage is adjusted at intervals based on a test called Creatinine Clearance test. It varies from 10 mg/24 hours to 10 mg/72 hours. In haemodialysis patients, the dosage is 10 mg/7 days following dialysis.
