Hyzaar is used to treat high blood pressure. It is a combination of Losartan which belongs to a class of medication called angiotensin II receptor antagonists and Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to a class of medication called diuretics. Lozartan allows the smooth blood flow by blocking the action of certain chemicals that cause vasoconstriction (tightening of blood vessels). More than two tablets of Hyzaar 50-12.5 once daily or more than one tablet of Hyzaar 100-25 once daily, is not recommended.
