Mepron is a drug belonging to the naphthalenes drug-class. It is a ubiquinone analog. It shows anti-pneumocystic effects. The drug is used for the prevention of PCP (that is Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia). It is especially recommended in patients who do not tolerate the TMP-SMX (that is trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole).
