Mirapex Information
Mirapex drug is an agonist of non-ergoline dopamine receptors. It is used in the treatment of patients having Parkinson's disease (or PD). The drug is used for treating and managing the symptoms of idiopathic PD. Additionally, the generic drug is used for the treatment of primary-restless legs syndrome (or RLS) which is moderate-severe in severity. By acting on the dopamine receptors (dopamine receptor types: D2, D3 & D4), the drug stimulates the under-functioning receptors. Mirapex Side Effects and Precautions

Dosage Information For Mirapex
For treating PD the recommended starting dose of Mirapex is 0.375 mg per day. This is given in 3 divided doses. The dose is gradually increased over a period of 5-7 days from 0.375 mg to 4.50 mg per day. The maintenance dose ranges from 1.5 mg to 4.5 mg per day. For treating RLS 0.125 mg is recommended once per day for 4-7 days. It is given every 2-3 hours, before the bed-time.
