Omnipaque Information
Omnipaque is a popular contrast agent which is available in different concentrations. The drug is utilized in processes such as arthrography, myelography, nephro-angiography, different radiographic methods and arteriography. Cheap Omnipaque has less systemic toxicity and thus is preferred over other ordinary contrast agents. The drug also possesses low chemotoxicity and low osmolality. It can block the x-ray as it passes through a vessel inside the body. Thus the specific structure of the body containing iodine is delineated using this drug. But the structures that do not contain iodine are not delineated. This drug is soluble in water and non-ionic.
Omnipaque Side Effects and Precautions:
Iohexol must be prescribed cautiously as it may worsen the condition of the patient if he or she is allergic to one or more ingredients of the drug. If the person is suffering from any form of infectious disease, then the use of discount Omnipaque should be avoided. Intrathecal administration of this drug must be abandoned if the patient is taking corticosteroids. Such negligence may lead to paralysis, coma, convulsions, cerebral hemorrhage, arachnoiditis, cardiac arrest, hyperthermia, renal failure and edema in the brain. If the patient encounters any serious side effect of Iohexol, a doctor must be consulted with immediately.
Intravascular administration of generic Omnipaque may lead to chest pain, hypotension, arrhythmias, ischemic attack, fast or slow heart rate, headache, dizziness or light headedness, convulsions, anxiety, speech dysfunction, fever, stiff neck, shivering and vision abnormalities.
Dosage Information for Omnipaque:
The pediatric patients should administrate 0.36 gI to 2.94 gI in a single dose in lumbar, cervical, thoracic procedures. The exact dosage is evaluated according to the patient’s body weight.
