Optivar is an antihistaminic eye drop used to treat itchy eyes caused mainly by allergens. An antihistamine blocks the effects of allergy producing agents called histamines. There is a thin, clear layer covering the eyeballs and inner aspect of your eyelid called conjunctiva. When this layer faces irritation due to exposure to allergens pollen, pets, or dust the condition is called as allergic conjunctivitis.
