Ponstel Information
Ponstel is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug from the group of fenarnates used for the relief of pain which is moderate and in treating painful menses. This may be pain due to muscle strain, medical procedures, inflammation of bursa or tendon and any other generalized pain which is short termed. When used for pain relief, it not used for more than 7 days. Ponstel is also used in treatment of dysmenorrhea (painful menses). It is better to use these pain killers in the beginning of pain as once the pains increase they will not respond to the drug. Cheap Ponstel is now available in every other shop.
Ponstel Side Effects and Precautions
Mefenamic acid may cause side effects like ulcers or sudden internal bleeding. These produce symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea vomiting, fatigue, yellowing of skin/eyes, etc. Stools may be bloody or tarry. Do not buy Ponstel if you have experienced any allergies in the form of asthmatic attacks, rash or hay fever like symptoms on intake of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like Nuprin or aspirin. Avoid Ponstel in case of conditions like gastric ulcers, internal bleeding, high blood pressure, heart problems, kidney disease, or any other disease and if you are taking any diuretics or ACE inhibitors.

Dosage Information For Ponstel
For adolescents aged 14 years and adults, 500 mg is given as the initial dose and is followed by 250 mg every 6 hours as per the need. This medication is not to be used beyond 1 week. The same dosage is followed in case of painful menses. Medicine is started on the first day of bleeding and the concomitant symptoms but may not be required for more than 3 days.
