Rebetol Information
Rebetol is an anti-viral medication. It is used for treating chronic hepatitis-C (or CHC) viral infections. The drug is used with other drugs called interferon alfa-2b drugs that may be pegylated or non-pegylated. The drug is recommended for patients who are > 3 years of age and who have a compensated hepatic (liver) disease. This generic drug acts by inhibiting the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase in the virus. Besides, the drug interferes with the translation of some DNA in the virus. The drug also acts by enhancing the T-cells mediated immunity against the viral infections. Rebetol Side Effects and Precautions
