Reclast Information
Reclast is an inhibitor of the osteoclastic bone-resorption. It is bisphosphonic acid. It is used for the treatment of post-menopausal women with osteoporosis. It is also used to prevent osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. Besides this, the generic drug is also indicated for use in men, for treating osteoporosis and to increase the bone mass. It is suggested that the drug can be used for treating hypercalcemia also. The drug acts by preventing the osteoclast activity. It reduces the bone turnover rate and results in net gain of the bone mass. Cheap Reclast can be bought with a doctor's prescription from a pharmacy store.
Reclast Side Effects and Precautions
Less serious (or common) side effects of Zoledronic Acid are cough, nausea, vomiting, no appetite, constipation, headache, diarrhea, tired feeling, mild joint pain or mild muscle pain. Swelling or reddening may also occur at the site of administration. Serious effects of Reclast may include less urination or no urination, muscle spasms, tingly feeling, numbness (around the mouth), unusual weakness, bruising easily, pale skin and severe pain in the joints, muscles or bone.
Zoledronic Acid may also induce bronchospasm, which in-turn results in wheezing, troubled breathing or chest tightness. Flu-like signs may occur including body ache, chills or fever. Dosage Information For Reclast
For treating osteoporosis, in both men as well as women, the recommended regimen of Reclast is 5 mg drug, given once a year. The drug is administered as IV infusion for < 15 minutes. For preventing osteoporosis, the same dose is given once in 2 years. It is recommended that the patients take calcium and vitamin-D supplements on a daily basis.
