Toviaz is an anti-muscarinic agent (that is antagonist to muscarinic receptors). It is a pro-drug which gets metabolized into 5-hydroxymethyl tolterodine. The drug is administered in the form of extended release tablets. The drug is used for treating patients with an over-active bladder. The generic drug is indicated for treating the symptoms associated with over-active bladder such as urinary urgency, urinary incontinence and urinary frequency. Muscarinic receptors contribute to the contraction of the smooth muscles in the urinary bladder and the stimulation of the salivary-secretion. Toviaz Side Effects and Precautions
You may experience certain less-serious side effects of Fesoterodine Fumarate drug. These common side effects of the drug include dry eyes, blurred vision, dry mouth, constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, dry throat, cough, stomach upset/ pain, back pain or insomnia. Toviaz may or may not induce one or more of these side effects. If you have any of these effects then inform your doctor about it. However, if these effects become worse then get medical attention.
