Velcade Information
Velcade is a chemotherapy drug that is given after other cancer medications have been tried without any success. This medication is used to treat multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. It helps in preventing the action of certain proteins that result in the selective death of cancer cells. It interferes with these cancer causing cells, thereby decreasing their growth rate, and retarding them from spreading to other parts of your body. Velcade or Bortezomib may cause a few common side effects like vomiting, mild nausea, stomach upset, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, blurred vision, headache, muscle pain, bone or joint pain, insomnia, mild rash, itching or skin irritation.
