Zyvox is generally used as an antibiotic drug to prevent different types of bacterial infections such as skin infections, pneumonia or infections which cannot be prevented by other antibiotics. It is usually active against gram positive bacteria (aerobic and anaerobic both). Primarily it is bacteriostatic but effective against few streptococci, pneumococci.
