Mepron Information

Mepron is a drug belonging to the naphthalenes drug-class. It is a ubiquinone analog. It shows anti-pneumocystic effects. The drug is used for the prevention of PCP (that is Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia). It is especially recommended in patients who do not tolerate the TMP-SMX (that is trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole). The precise mode of action of the generic drug is not clearly understood. However, the drug interrupts with the neuronal communication within the spinal cord and reticular formation. This leads to the alteration in the perceptions of pain as well as sedation. Discount Mepron is now available at all leading contracted pharmacies and needs a prescription.
