Bezalip SR is used to treat high cholesterol. The generic name of this drug is Bezafibrate. It belongs to the class of medications called fibrates.

You can buy Bezalip SR in the form of tablets. The tablet should be taken with lots of fluids before or after meals. Don’t chew the tablet.

Indications & Dosage of Bezalip SR

Bezalip SR is used to treat cholesterol. It can also be prescribed to patients with very high levels of triglycerides.

Bezalip SR comes in the form of a white film-coated tablet. The major non-medical ingredients in the tablet are colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 2208 & 2910, and lactose and magnesium stearate. The recommended dose of Bezalip SR is one 400 mg sustained-release tablet once a day for adults. The dosage may vary from person to person depending on his weight, condition, and response to treatment. You must start using the drug only after consulting the doctor. If you miss a dose of Bezalip SR, try to take it as soon as you remember. If it is the time for next dose, avoid the skipped dose. Don’t take an overdose of Bezalip SR. Seek immediate medical attention in case of an overdose. Complete the course of treatment even if you are feeling better after a few days of using the medication.

You must store Bezalip SR at room temperature and keep it away from moisture and heat. Keep the drug away from the reach of children. Don’t dispose Bezalip SR in wastewater or the toilet. Ask a medical practitioner to dispose it along with any other unwanted drugs.

Less serious side effects of Bezalip SR are:

Warnings & Precautions of Bezalip SR

You must not use Bezalip SR if you have:

• An allergy to any of the ingredients in it
• An allergy to fibrated drugs
• Gallbladder disease
• Reduced kidney function
• Reduced liver function
• Low blood count
• Type 1 hyperlipoproteinemia
• Severe infection
• Recent surgery
• Trauma

You must not buy Bezalip SR if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. While using the medication, you must use adequate birth control devices. If you are planning to get pregnant, stop the medication several months before pregnancy. Bezalip SR should not be given to children as well.
