Dexilant is a proton-pump inhibitor which is used for treating several conditions. It is used for the treatment and management of erosive esophagitis. The drug is also used for maintenance of the erosive esophagitis (after it has been treated and healed). The generic drug is used in the treatment of symptomatic non-erosive gastro-esophageal reflux diseases (GERD). The drug acts by inhibiting the ATPase of the gastric cells.
