Gleevec Information

Gleevec is a drug that belongs to a class of drugs called protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It is used in the treatment of certain types of leukemia (cancer beginning in the white cells) and cancers of other blood cells. Gastrointestinal stromal tumor, a tumor in the walls of the digestive passages that may spread to other parts of the body and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (tumor under the upper layer of skin) are also treated with Gleevec. This generic drug helps stop the spread of cancer cells by blocking the protein that signals the cancer cells to multiply. Many contracted pharmacies offer cheap Gleevec.
