Humira Information

Humira is a drug used in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis and plaque psoriasis in adults. It works by binding itself to the Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF-alpha), which is produced by the body's immune system and blocks its action. TNF-alpha in excess, causes inflammation and damage of body tissues. The brand or generic drug is infused as an injection. Humira is a prescription drug. Adalimumab may cause some side effects like bloody urine, increased cholesterol levels and pain at the site of injection.
